Your cartridge may have a brass sleeve fitted on to the end of your cartridge (over the spline). If it does you need to remove this sleeve from the cartridge and fit this on to the new cartridge. If you have the 40 spline adaptor you can purchase the valves with this adaptor (SV40-P).
