Astini Torlan Frequently Asked questions
How do I remove the Astini Torlan Tap handle?
You can watch our step by step tutorial of removing the handles and replacing the tap cartridges. The Hot and the cold handles have a small chrome screw cover on the underside of the handle. remove this and you can then access the grub screw. You will need a 2.5mm allen key to undo this screw. The handle will then pull off.
To remove the filter tap handle you need to unscrew the lever sticking up from the handle. Once this is removed you can access the grub screw.
How do I tell which cartridge is leaking on my Astini Torlan?
The cold and the filter are on the same feed so to tell which is leaking between the cold and the filter you will need to remove the aerator which will be attached to a black pipe inside the spout. If the water is coming from the black pipe then you need to replace the filter cartridge. If the leak is coming from around the edge of the spout it will be either the hot or the cold. To identify which is leaking between the hot and the cold You will need isolation valves under the sink. If you do not have isolation valves then you should purchase both the hot and the cold.
My Torlan handle keeps coming loose
This is a common problem. This is due to the brass adaptor fitted on to the spline of the cartridge which needs tightening on. You will need to remove the tap handle and tighten the screw holding the adaptor on to the top of the cartridge.
How do I remove the Spout?
First remove the aerator on the end of the spout. Use 2.5mm allen key to undo the grub screw at the back of the spout. Pull spout up and out of the tap body. Replace O'rings in the spout and use silicone grease on the new o'rings
I have replaced the tap cartridge and the handle is stiff to turn
When you remove the old cartridge from the tap it is common for the old silicone gasket to remain lodged inside the tap body. This needs to be removed before fitting the new cartridge.
My tap cartridge has a smooth round brass adaptor on the top with no teeth/ splines
Some older versions of the torlan use the adaptor shown below. We cannot supply this adaptor. You will need to remove this screw from the top of the adaptor and re_use this on the new cartridge.
You can find the tap diagram/instructions below.
