If your tap is dripping or leaking out of the spout then it is time to replace / change the quarter turn ceramic disc cartridges.
Original spare part codes known by 1254R. The cartridge has 24 splines.
How to remove the handle and replace the cartridge:
Before replacing the cartridge, you will need to turn the water off.
You’ll first need to remove the handle indicator by prising it off.
Then remove the handle retaining screw by using a crosshead screwdriver.
You will then be able to remove the handle and unscrew the valve by using an adjustable spanner.
Now you can then fit the replacement parts.
What tools will I need to replace the tap cartridge?
You will need an adjustable (or 17mm) spanner, and a crosshead screwdriver.
How do I know which side is leaking?
If you have isolation valves under the sink you can isolate the supply to work out which is leaking.
Otherwise you should replace both the hot and cold at the same time.
Tap valves known by tap glands, inserts, 1/4 turn ceramic disc valve, internals, tap spares.
